Faster Way To Lose Stomach Fat Easy. My Story


Most of my life, I hovered around a healthy weight and was looking for a faster way to lose stomach fat. It wasn't until 2002 that things changed. My mother was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer right after my husband and I moved across the country to be closer to my parents. I'd just given birth to my first child, and the unrelenting realities of new parenthood and my mother's disease collided. I fell apart — all I could do was eat and cry.

TURNING POINT  Five months later, my mother died, but my emotional eating continued. Grief-stricken, I kept shoveling in more food, and by the time I had my second child, in 2005, my weight was at an all-time high. My clothes were skintight, and I was so full of self-loathing, I'd regularly refer to myself as a "fat pig." Once in a while, I'd exercise like crazy or stop eating to skim off a few pounds, but I was always too lazy to start a formal routine. Finally, last fall, I hit bottom. I'm only 5'3", and my most forgiving size 12 pants were too tight. I couldn't accept being a size 14. At that point, I knew I had to make a change.

HOW I DID IT AND FOUND FASTER WAY TO LOSE BELLY FAT  Like many working moms, I often come home spent — so I wasn't interested in a complicated plan. A coworker told me about Weight Watchers' online program and it seemed convenient, so I gave it a try. There were no meetings, but I logged in daily to record my activity and food, and, once weekly, my weight.
The site also had lots of message boards for online support, so I never felt alone. I dropped five pounds my first week, but instead of being happy, I became overwhelmed. I realized I had no time to make separate meals for myself and my family. My solution: I use my weekends to make weekday meals. I prepare and freeze healthy staples like turkey meatloaf or bags of diced chicken to use during the week. Today, I'm no longer ashamed to show off my shape. Life is a lot more fun.


I've always loved food. When I was growing up, our pantry was perennially stocked with high-fat snacks — eating bags of Cheetos and Oreos became my after-school routine. I started packing on pounds in second grade and was viciously teased throughout school. Nonetheless, my eating habits continued, and by college I was 300 pounds. Good time for fast and easy way to lose belly fat now. In those days, I'd eat anytime, day or night — and I had no idea what a portion size was. My meals were five times the amount they should have been: I'd eat an entire box of spaghetti or a whole pound of beef in one sitting. After college, I got engaged. I tried to get in shape for my wedding and actually lost 30 pounds, but I stopped my efforts soon after the ceremony, gaining everything back — and more.
THE WORDS THAT WOKE ME UP  A year after my wedding, I went in for my annual physical. After the exam, my doctor looked at me and said, "Jan, you're 6'4" and 335 pounds. If you don't do something soon, you're going to die." He immediately put me on blood pressure drugs to slow the damage I was doing to myself. There I was, only 24, and already terrified I'd die of a heart attack. Still reeling from his words, I talked to my wife. She had some friends who'd had success on Weight Watchers, so I gave it a try.
HOW I DID IT  My first week I lost four pounds. That's when I knew: I wasn't destined to be obese. Once I shed 35 pounds, I had enough confidence to give exercise a try. Every day I set mini goals for myself, and slowly, I met my challenges. Within a year and a half, I'd lost 100 pounds getting fast and easy way to lose belly fat. My health improved, and I stopped taking blood pressure meds. I've kept the weight off eight months, and I actually ran my first marathon last spring!
